Jo Ann Peterson

Jo Ann Peterson became the Mrs. Kentucky Director in 2003. Meeting and getting to know the delegates is always a highlight of her job. In fact, she has discovered a new passion…working with married women. Jo Ann loves to watch these women grow in their journey to be more than they think they are and especially enjoys watching their husbands delight in watching that dream come true. She feels blessed to have several return each year as delegates or, some return as staff. Without them, there would be no Mrs. Kentucky.

One of her greatest accomplishments is her growing family of the Mrs. Kentucky Queens Club. Each of “her girls” continue to be active in the organization…from producing the program book, emceeing, choreographing the show, and performing, they all are a major part of the success.

Jo Ann began her journey in the beauty industry in 1968 as a hairdresser. After owning her own salon for several years, she went to work as an educational consultant for the national salon professional company, Matrix; in which staging productions was a major part of the job. Having taught and produced continuing education classes for stylists since 1997, as well as working in one of the largest salons and spas in Kentucky, gives Jo Ann a unique perspective of poise, beauty, and personality.

Married to Gordon since 1984, they have one adult child and live in Louisville. Jo Ann was honored to be presented the 2008 Mrs. America Director of the Year, in Tucson AZ.
